Here are a few snapshots from last night’s rehearsal for Baby Bobby and Alex by Joseph Orellana of Central Elementary. This play tells the story of a bodiless head and a headless body who become friends….
The challenge here has been how to physically create both of the characters. For Alex, the body, we’re having two puppeteers manipulate the life-size puppet with arms and legs. For Baby Bobby, the head, one puppeteer has a long pole with the head at the end; we’ve tried using a kick ball and a soccer ball, and now we’re working with a helium balloon!
